JAK DŁUGO w SERCACH NASZYCH……….

Tą patriotyczną piosenką, odśpiewaną przez licznie zgromadzoną młodzież Związku Harcerstwa Polskiego poza granicami Kraju (ZHP pgK), zakończono przemówienie harcmistrzyni Teresy Berezowskiej, Przewodniczącej ZHP w Kanadzie.

Rokrocznie harcerki i harcerze biorą udział we wzniosłej uroczystości w Niagara-on-the-Lake, upamiętniającej, w tym roku, 89-tą rocznicę powstania Błękitnej Armii Gen. Wł. Haller’a.  Przed Mszą Św. wzniesiono 3 flagi – amerykańską, kanadyjską i polską po czym odśpiewano Hymny Narodowe tych trzech państw.  Wychowanie narodowo-patriotyczne jest jednym z celów ZHP pgK.

W swoim przemówieniu dhna Berezowska powiedziała:

As has been mentioned already you can see a very large group of Polish Girl and Boy Scouts behind me.   We come here annually because we believe in keeping up the heritage, culture and traditions of Poland within our movement.  The other fact is that when Polish scouting began, shortly after Baden-Powell founded scouting in 1910, Poland was involved in the re-establishment of itself on the map of Europe.  And Polish scouts joined in that battle. Polish scouting has always been involved in maintaining Poland as a free nation. During the Second World War scouting troops were part of the Warsaw uprising and fought valiantly to try and keep Poland free. Our scouts here represent a group of youth that in their hearts believe that they are deeply Polish. Many of them, like these young men buried here, were not born in Poland - neither was I - but we still maintain a deep love for Poland.

Pamiętamy teraz…………pamiętać będziemy…………jak w Hymnie Narodowym,……. “póki my żyjemy”!

CZUWAJ!
